Anna Koumandaraki studied Political Science and International Relations at Panteion University. She holds a Master degree in Sociology from London School of Economics and Political Science and Ph.D from University of Essex. The title of her Ph. D thesis was “Labour Identity in the Semi-Periphery: The case of the Greek Trade Union Movement”. Since 2008 she has worked as tutor -councilor in Greek Open University in the Program “European Cultural Studies”. She has taught courses on Greek Labour Movement, Social Theory, Political and Historical Sociology in Aristotelean University of Thessaloniki, National Kapodistrian University of Athens, Technological Institute of Athens, Panteion University, University of Aegean and University of Crete. Main research interests are sociology of labour movement, nationalism, issues related with women’s participation in politics and the labour market.
