Vlassis Missos is Research Fellow, Centre of Planning and Economic Research, Athens, Greece, and Academic Scholar, Department of Economics, University of Athens. His main research interests are social policy, poverty, income inequality, political economy, and the history of economic thought. He has also worked as a consultant to the General Secretary of Fiscal Policy at the Greek Ministry of Finance and as a short-term consultant to the Government of Samoa on a development assistance project funded by the Government of Australia. His publications include (with Costis Vaitsos) The Real Economy: Experience of Development, Crisis and Impoverishment in Greece (2018, Athens: Kritiki, in Greek).
