Dr. Dimitris Paraskevopoulos is an Assistant Professor of Sociology of emotions. He studied sociology and social research methodology and he received his PhD degree in 2018. From Oct 2018 to Sep 2019 he worked at the Department of Business Administration at University of the Aegean, and from Oct 2020 to Jul 2022 he worked at the postgraduate program of Criminological and Penal Law perspectives on Corruption, Economic and Organised Crime (PED) at Hellenic Open University. From Oct 2020 until now he work at the Department of Sociology at University of the Aegean. His research interests focus on sociology of emotions, sociology of sports, methodology of social research, as well as on issues of social control, securitization and surveillance processes. He has been involved in various conferences, research projects, and he has a number of journal articles and book chapters.
