Charis Asimopoulos is Professor of Social Work in Mental Health, Department of Social Work, University of West Attica. He has extensive research and teaching experience in social work in mental health. In particular, he has undertaken research, teaching and clinical experience in areas related to mental health, psychiatric reform, development of community care services, inclusion policies interventions for adolescents and adults with mental health problems and school mental health prevention’ programs. His main research interests focus on mental health of children and adolescents, de-institutionalisation, community mental health care, psychosocial support of social excluded groups (Roma, minorities), rights and independent living of people with disabilities.He is author of books and articles on mental health published in international journals.
